Australian born artist, Shoshana Meerkin, immigrated to Israel with her parents in 1973. She grew up on the picturesque farming settlement of Beit Meir in the Jerusalem hills -- a constant source of inspiration to the artist. After graduating from the Hebrew University's Social Sciences Faculty, she moved to Jerusalem where she studied painting privately for many years.

Shoshana specializes in watercolor paintings, illustrations, illuminated Judaica art (Ketuboth), family portrait cartoons and general cartoons. Her printed works includes reproductions of her original works, calendars, pictures for children's rooms, children's posters, greeting cards and Birchonim. Her original works are available in various Israeli galleries and Judaica stores as well as at her studio. They include paintings of Jerusalem's houses and the Israeli landscape. Private commissions and studio sales are available by appointment only.

Prints and Greeting Cards

This special series of ten watercolor prints and greeting cards was created by Shoshana Meerkin in celebrate of the 3000th anniversary of the Holyland's capital city, Jerusalem. She combined the techniques of watercolor painting and illustration to capture Jerusalem's most enchanting scenes.

Her use of varying shades of color -- from subtle, pastel hues to bold vibrant tones -- mirrors the rich color of life in Israel.

The ten watercolor reproductions are lightweight, mounted and ready for framing. The actual picture size is 16.5 cm by 12 cm and when mounted measures 26.5 cm by 22 cm.

They create a charming display when several are grouped together on one wall.

Greeting Cards

These watercolor paintings are also available in a beautiful range of greeting cards. Each greeting card displays one of the ten Jerusalem paintings. The 9 cm by 14.5 cm picture is mounted on a white linen-finished card (11 cm by 16.5 cm). They are perfect for displaying on shelves, mantelpieces or desks.

The greeting cards are blank (no message is written) -- perfect for any occasion. Pictures for Children

Shoshana Meerkin has created a charming series of prints to delight any youngster. The endearing animals and children depicted in these prints are illustrated with the finest quality designer paints, in warm and vibrant colors. Any little boy or girl will adore to see these pictures as wall decorations in his or her room. Each picture is titled in bold English and Hebrew letters.

All four of these lightweight wall hangings are mounted and protected in "shrink wrap" plastic. They are attached with a small hook at the back so that they may be hung as they are or framed later on.
